Artisan Workshop Guide (Burial armor)

This guide covers the burial armor section of the Artisan Workshop.

To learn how to create ceremonial swords, refer to the Ceremonial sword guide.

Use the ore calculator by Bs and Firefly to determine the ores required for your (trimmed) completionist cape.

The Basics

1. Store ores: Use your metal ores and coal (noted or unnoted) on the smelter in the middle of the workshop. You can start making (iron) burial armor at Smithing level 30.

2. Click the east half of the smelter: This side provides tier I/II/III ingots. The west side only has tier IV ingots for ceremonial swords.

3. Choose an ingot tier: Using tier I ingots is recommended, as tier III ingots use 4 times as many resources for half the XP per runite ore.

4. Withdraw ingots: Take a full inventory of your chosen ingot tier.

5. Smith at an anvil: Click one of the anvils on the east side of the workshop to open the burial armor smithing menu.

6. Follow instructions: Standing in the eastern half of Artisan Workshop, a “current instructions” box is visible at the top of your screen. You’ll earn 10% bonus XP for any items you make while following those instructions. However, most players simply choose to AFK for the duration of the inventory.

What Else Should I Know?

  • Respect is gained at a rate of 1% per 760,000 base Smithing XP, and may be used to unlock rewards at Suak.
  • Unlocking the ability to buy the regular cannon (25% respect) is a requirement for the completionist cape.
  • An additional 440% respect is needed to unlock the remaining rewards in the workshop fo the trimmed completionist cape.
  • Wielding the Falador shield from the Prestige shop increases respect gain by 5%.
  • If instructions change mid-item, you still receive the 10% bonus XP when you finish.
  • Keep an eye out for burst pipes on the floor; fixing one grants free Smithing XP and 0.25% respect.
  • The burial armour itself has no use and may be discarded in the chute at the east end of the smelter.
  • Once you have unlocked all rewards, you can speak to Suak to trade respect for cannonballs. (150 cannonballs per 1% respect)
