NVIDIA’s Rendering Settings

If you encounter any issues after changing this setting, you can return to the control panel, switch it back to "Auto-select," and click "Apply" to revert the changes.

How to select your GPU as the default render option for OpenGL

If you’re experiencing delay, skipping, or lagging issues while using Open GL on your client and have an NVIDIA graphics card, you can follow these simple steps to optimize your settings:

  1. Search for the NVIDIA Control Panel or right-click the NVIDIA icon in the taskbar and open the control panel
  2. In the control panel, click on “Manage 3D settings” on the left-hand side.

Look for “Preferred graphics processor” and select “High-performance NVIDIA processor”. Note: This setting may be more taxing on your computer than allowing it to auto-select; if at any point you notice your computer becomes much noisier or heats up significantly, revert this setting.

  1. Now scroll down and look for “OpenGL rendering GPU”. In this drop-down menu, select your graphics card.
  1. Click “Apply” and close the control panel. You may have to restart your client for settings to apply there too.
